Learn about Dukes Painting's exciting contract to work in Antarctica during the winter.

Dukes Painting and Repair has some great news that we would like to share with you. We have landed a contract that will put us in Antarctica for the winter.

The National Science Foundation, USAP, and the US government send hundreds of people to Antarctica each year to carry out research and science missions.

These missions include biological studies of the micro-organisms that live in the harshest climate on earth to astrology and atmospherical studies. Antarctica provides a great place for these kinds of studies because it is relatively untouched by man and the pollution that affects the rest of the earth.

All of this science and the scientists that are there require support. There are buildings to be built, equipment to be maintained, and life support services that must be operated. This requires the services of skilled and talented tradesmen.

Dukes Painting and Repair has been selected as one of the few contractors to travel to Antarctica each year to help in a support role. We will be painting and finishing, and protecting buildings and equipment in one of the harshest climates in the world.

We will be in Antarctica and therefore away from Oklahoma from September until approximately the end of February. We will still be in touch if you need us, just know that it may take several days or weeks to get back to you. This also means that we will not be available for estimates or work until February 2010. I apologize if you need work done quickly as we will not be able to accommodate you.

However, we would love to work with you in the spring and hope you will work with us. Wouldn’t it be great to have your house painted by one of the few companies in the world that has experience painting in Antarctica!?

If you want to keep updated on what is happening with us and how things are going in Antarctica, you can follow us on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/tulsapainter. Or you can just check back on this website as I will be posting regular updates.

Have a great winter, and I hope to work with you in the spring.

Thanks,

Marty Dukes, - Owner, Dukes Painting and Repair.
